Ovi proteini, prona\u0111eni u \u0107elijama tumora ki\u010dmenih prstenova, poti\u010du migraciju \u0107elija i metastazu ili, jednostavnije re\u010deno,\u00a0 &#8220;govore&#8221; \u0107elijama kada se trebaju po\u010deti kretati, iako im ne poru\u010duju u koje se ta\u010dno djelove tijela trebaju kretati. Ako ovi proteini u \u0107elijama tumora nijesu aktivni, one ne\u0107e migrirati niti biti invazivne, prenosi portal Biologija.com.hr iz \u010dasopisa Current Biology.<\/p>\n<p>Novo istra\u017eivanje je pokazalo da isti mehanizam postoji i u slu\u010daju zdravih \u0107elija vinske mu\u0161ice (Drosophila melanogaster).<\/p>\n<p>Otkriveno je, naime, da se protein Dpp (engl. decapentaplegic protein), homologan proteinima BMP i TGF\u03b2, pona\u0161a kao signal za po\u010detak kretanja zdravih \u0107elija. &#8220;\u0106elije s aktivnim Dpp-om migratorne su i invazive&#8221;, izjavio je\u00a0 Mart\u00edn Blanco. &#8220;Ako se aktivnost Dpp-a blokira, \u0107elije se prestaju kretati. No, ako do\u0111e do pretjerane aktivacije\u00a0 proteina Dpp, \u0107elije dobijaju poja\u010dane migratorne i invazivne kapacitete.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Autori istra\u017eivanja su prou\u010davali embrionalne \u0107elije vinske mu\u0161ice tokom stvaranja tzv. abdominalnog epitela za vrijeme metamorfoze, procesa prilikom kojega embrionske \u0107elije (histoblasti) koje \u0107e stvoriti trbu\u0161nu \u0161upljinu mu\u0161ice zamjenjuju epidermalne \u0107elije larve.
